WhatsApp - Just Because
DEPT Agency and WhatsApp asked us to create a campaign to increase app downloads. The goal was to evoke a genuine feeling of connection and emphasize how WhatsApp facilitates meaningful interactions in people's daily lives. The campaign used animated user interfaces (UI) to show how a simple message can transform moods and strengthen relationships. The challenge faced by the creative team was to create relatable characters that would resonate with a diverse, international audience while adhering to WhatsApp's established style and color palette. The project required the production of a thirty-second hero spot and a fifteen-second cutdown, all within an incredibly tight timeframe of under six weeks. To bring the vision to life, the BIEN team meticulously illustrated and animated characters that embodied the emotions and experiences associated with connecting through WhatsApp. Careful attention was given to ensuring the characters were universally appealing while adhering to WhatsApp's branding guidelines. Oh, and, skateboards!
