Google - CFDA - The Fashion Fellowship
“Passion is not enough. There is very limited opportunity. I hope we raise awareness about how the industry can do better about bringing people in. It’s good for business and it’s good for the industry”.
The above quote from Becket Fogg, Founder and Designer of AREA is featured in the BIEN production documenting the Google and CFDA Fashion Fellowship during New York Fashion Week Fall. She is speaking to the fashion industry, but the sentiment applies to the motion design space as well, or any creative field for that matter. It’s a powerful statement that echoes the ethos of BIEN, and the goals of our partners with the creation of the Fashion Fellowship. Designing with not for, is essential for a brand, and an industry’s sustained growth and progress.
This was a challenging process to document. Multiple locations and runway shows featuring different designers and production teams within the congestion of Manhattan, all made for a complex puzzle to solve for. But the BIEN team, along with our partners, were aligned on our goal to capture these inspiring journeys to showcase the importance of why designing with, not for, is essential.
We interviewed three separate designers, each awarded the Google and CFDA Fashion Fellowship, and then filmed each of their runway shows during Fall Fashion Week ‘25.
BIEN x Saltfish Collective produced a total of 4 short docs. All project deliverables available upon request.
